I feel kind of wierd about posting a new topic since the article is about my game, but here goes. When Tim described his idea for this series of articles he expressed a sincere desire to avoid making it anything like a review. I think that's why there wasn't a lot of actual detail about the game itself included. I think more detail would be useful, however. But not *much* more. The article is about innovation so, yes, I think the part of a game that is called innovative merits more detail. He also expressed to me that he doesn't want this series to resemble promotion or "plugs". I can see how you might think this first article leans toward the "This game is good" side without a lot of the "This game needs work" stuff. For the record, The Pool has went through a lot of debate about how it works and how it doesn't. It hasn't all been rosey. As I said in the interview, some players found it hard to get/keep dice and this very fact was, for some time, a matter of some intense discussion. The fact is, depending on how you actually play the game, it *can* be a frustrating experience. I made a couple of alterations to the rules to address this. As Tim has already said, this is his first article in the series. I think its a great idea and I look forward to reading future installments.
