 Gaming is Film, not Writing

Gaming is telling a story through time, like video, rather than a story which is self paced. Framing the scene and pacing the game story is more important than the flowery prose the scene is constructed of.

Besides screenwriting is everything writing has, plus what you need for gaming.

There are several good books on the subject, but the best in my experience:

Story: Substance, Structure, Style and the Principles of Screenwriting
Robert McKee.
Methuen, 1999,
466 pages
