Sandy's Soapbox #146: One Gamer's View

Sandy's Soapbox
The first thing I'm going to say is that I have no idea on how to write an article. I'm only a 5th, to be 6th, grader that really loves role playing, so don't criticize spelling or grammar. I have played in a lot of different types of role playing games. Adventure, fighting, treasure-hunting, practically a you-name-it-I've-played-it situation. I have GMed probably 1 game.

I like playing more than GMing. I "narrated" Pokemon JR. for my dad and friend. It was sort of boring. Others may be different, but I like playing better.

One that I have played is "Noble Wild" by Lee Garvin. I enjoyed it a lot and played it a few times. In "Noble Wild" you play animals. Each animal has powers that seem to go along with that animal. I had played a snake called "Theshin", who is a sorcerer. You might think snakes would be evil, but since we were playing to-be heroes, that wouldn't be possible. An elephant is a cleric, hawk, fighter, etc. You'll know more if you play it. I really recommend it.

I played a few online role playing games. They were fun, but not as fun as real ones. I like role playing games so much, I want to create a character to be in one. I read a lot about making a character, so it will work. I would be a Sorcerer Druid Elf. You choose a race and class when making a character, that's why I have 3 things listed.

I watched "The Gamers, Dorkness Rising". It is a really funny movie. I don't want to tell anything about it, because I might spoil it. But it's about gamers whose characters are living the adventure that the players are playing.

I can sum everything up with 4 words. I LOVE ROLE PLAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ivy
